Welcome to the Bar Timer Indicator for MT5. This guide will walk you through the simple installation process and explain the available settings.

Installation

  1. Download the BarTimer.ex5 file from your member dashboard.
  2. Open your MetaTrader 5 terminal.
  3. Go to File > Open Data Folder.
  4. Navigate to MQL5 > Indicators.
  5. Drag and drop the BarTimer.ex5 file into this folder.
  6. Right-click on the "Indicators" folder in your MT5 Navigator panel and select "Refresh".
  7. The "Bar Timer" indicator will now be available to drag onto any chart.

Key Features & Settings

You can customize the indicator to fit your trading style. When you add the indicator to a chart, you'll see the following input parameters:

  • Timer Position: Choose which corner of the chart to display the timer (e.g., Top-Left, Top-Right, Bottom-Left, Bottom-Right).
  • Timer Font Size: Adjust the text size of the countdown.
  • Timer Font Color: Set a custom color for the timer text.
  • Alert Threshold (Seconds): Set a number of seconds before the candle close to trigger an alert (e.g., 5). Set to 0 to disable.
  • Enable Pop-up Alert: true/false - Enable or disable the MT5 pop-up alert box.
  • Enable Sound Alert: true/false - Enable or disable the sound alert.
  • Sound File Name: Specify the .wav file to play (must be in your Sounds folder).
